Description

Spores provided in sterile aqueous solution using 10cc BD Luer-Lok syringes. One 1.5in 16ga needle will be provided for each spore filled syringe.

Habitat: Manure and enriched soils
Climate: Temperate/ Mediterranean

Strain Origin: Colville, Washington, USA

A microscopically confirmed collection of Panaeolus bisporus from the continental USA.  Unlike its close relative, P. cyanescens, this species is more adventitious and tolerant of temperate climates.  Formerly only reported from Morrocco (Type locality) and nearby Spain.  There are (unpublished?) reports of this species from Switzerland and Hawaii.

Panaeolus bisporus is distinquished from P. cyanescens by its exclusively 2-spored basidia.  The young mushrooms generally have very dark (lead grey to nearly black) caps which fade to a light grey at maturity.

Original collection by Frizzie aka Subbalteatus 8/2010.  An apparently identical 2008 collection from San Diego, California is featured in the Spore Works gallery.  A possible third collection from Spokane is currently being examined.

* Spores intended for microscopy and taxonomy purposes only. Images provided for informational and educational reference only and originate from cultivators and labs outside the US. Cultivation of this species is illegal in many countries including the United States. Please check your local regulations.

California, Idaho, and Georgia residents: Orders requesting Psilocybe Genera Spores shipped to California, Idaho, and Georgia will be refused, voided, or refunded. Possession of these mushroom spores may be illegal in CA, ID, and GA without the proper permissions.
